Get ready for a hot and long summer because we're having a.... DUEL CONTEST! That's right, you've read it right, we want you do depict an epic, and very hot DUEL!

General Rules:
-The contest is open for all miniature painters and all traditional and digital artists of any kind. Sadly, we can't accept any written work - unless you know how to draw too and make a comic out of it.
-The contest lasts 6 weeks, or from today untill July 29th! That's plenty of time to wrap something up because...
-ONLY ONE SUBMISSION PER CONTESTANT!
-The submission should depict a duel between two or more opponents of epic and/or hot proportions

Miniaturist-specific rules:
-We're expecting that you make a diorama and photograph it accordingly. Bonus points will be awarded for action poses, more than two contestants, but most importantly for presentation and modular capability - if the models can be detached from the diorama and used regulary that's a huge plus.
-You can submit just one deviation for your contest so make sure that deviation has all the pictures of all angles you want to submit. There are many free picture-editing software on-line that can help you make a collage picture of your photos, as well as help you out with cleaning them up a little.

Artist-specific rules
-We're expecting that you paint/draw/3d model/photomanip a combat scene. Bonus points will be awarded for action poses, more than two contestants, but most importantly on the amount of detail in both planing it out and drawing it accordingly.
-You can submit just one deviation for the contest, so take your time in planning exactly how that scene will look like and how much dynamics it will have. Wich specific technique will you use and wheter it will be B&W or in full color it's up to you.

Grading and prizes:
-As stated before we will be grading the work ourselves before putting the best work you submitted into voting polls. Each work you submit counts as having ONE point. For each bonus thing you did to impress us, yourself, and others (out of the ones I mentioned in the journal) you will get ONE MORE point. Only the ones with the highest amounts of points will get into voting.
-Extra bonus point if you somehow insert a reference to the 6th edition ;)
-Extra bonus point if your "format" is non-standard (comic-book or graphic novel for artists, BFG or Inquisitor for miniaturists, for example)
-Extra bonus point if you somehow impress us beyond any way we could have tought up during the creation of this journal ;)
-The prizes, besides the standard feature in our journal and in my personal journal, should include some points, but I'm still working on that department and can't promise anything at this time.
-If, by some strange and obscure way we get less than 10 submissions in these 6 weeks, all entries will be up for the poll, but I'm kind of hoping that won't happen as there is plenty of time and motivation to make something this awesome and to motivate others to create as well ;)

As always, a submission will be considered any deviation sent into the appropriatley named folder - the DUEL CONTEST folder. As soon as the folder becomes avaiable (sometime during Monday - that is, tomorrow), you can start submitting. And remember, just ONE submission per contestant ;)

Any questions - shoot here. So I might shoot the answers back with my dueling pistol.
This is :iconOlovni: signing off.

Please forgive my Ork level of intelligence with regard to "6th edition" - I assume you might mean the 6th edition of the rule book? And if so, for those of us unlucky enough to not have such an artifact, what sort of references might you be talking about please? I've been in a shell for at least 2 years with regards to rule books that don't have the title "Ork Codex" on it :B =P

And also, do you mean that we could get bonus points for doing a comic strip/page of le duel/biff/brawl? :eyes:
