Due to unforeseen amount of everything unimaginable appearing in our submission requests, we have decided to update and revise our group rules. This time they will be short, concise, and idiot-proof.
These will be periodically updated, notably with new folder names and what goes where.

General rules:

1. Ignorance of the rules is no excuse.
If the first thing you did after joining wasn't reading the rules, don't expect any explanations on why something was done, or something was denied.

2. Rules are not written in stone.
Even though we try to adhere to the rules as much as we can, there always will be situations that are unique. Therefore everything will always be reviewd on a case-by-case basis.

3. The administrators words are final.
This really doesn't need explaining, does it? Don't argue when we settle on a matter.

Joining rules:
Anyone can join. Pure and simple.

Submission rules:

1. Quality over Quantity.
Please pick your best work. All work will be judged on it's quality before accepted.

2. Pick the appropriate folder.
There are subfolders for a reason, and their names are rather self-explanatory. If, however, you're not sure, pick the FEATURED folder.

3. Only one submission per subject.
Do not post multiple angles of the same thing. Do not post colored and BW identical drawings. Do not post one, then decide to withdraw it after a month then post a different variation. PICK ONE.

4. Common sense of artistic quality
While we try to be objective when judging quality, we're still just human. Please, make our work easier by not submitting stick figures and the like.

5. NO WIPs!
I cannot stress this enough. NO WIPs will be accepted! They conflict with rule 3 of the submission rules.

5a. There is one exception to this rule - unpainted finished conversions. There is even an appropriate folder for these.

6. No crossovers.
Yes, you can be inspired by another fandom to build or make something for the 40k world. But unless that something belongs in the 40k world completley, don't submit it, it will be denied automatically.

7. No Bronies art.
No. No, no no, and no. No.

8. All submissions are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
I have to emphasize this again, even though it was already said. Just because something was accepted doesn't mean yours will or will not be.

9. Post relevant copyright info in your deviation description.
This goes especially for people who do photo manipulations - post link sources for all your images. "I found it on Google" won't stick, post a link to the actual work.

10. Work should have relevant 40k iconography in it.
This is specifically for art and conversions. Please CLEARLY show that the drawing/conversion belongs to the 40k world.

11. Dark Heresy work still has to follow all rules written here.

12. List of folders and their explanations:

Behavior rules

1. Be polite

2. Accept criticism.
Please be self-aware about your abilities. Please also be aware that all abilities can improve, regardless of talent. All criticism given is because we want you to give us your best.

3. Offer criticism.
If you see a good work in our galleries, please go to the artists page and comment on it. If you see a bad work, do so as well. All criticism is good criticism, people improve from it.

4. Remember that only admins get notifications on comments from the front page.
In other words - post there if you want to asks us something, not if you want to ask the community.

On Contests:
Periodically we will hold contests which are always for the sake of self-improvement. No prizes will be offered except the joy of winning and competing.

On Quality:
even though our quality requirements are low, please try to be above the minimal quality. As a rule of thumb, your work must be:
- For art: Finished, as in no sketchlines or unfinished appendages. Good proportions, good anatomy. Don't hide errors with shading.
- For minis: Finished mini, including the base. Photo must be clearly showing your painting skills. No sloppiness, no spillages or stains. Please try to keep the photograph focus on the mini by having clean backgrounds or similar. There is no minimum of how many colors you must have or whether you need to have effects, but the miniature must look crisp.
- For photographs: occasionally we will get a photo of a miniature where the intent was to use the mini as a prop. in that case miniature painting quality won't be judged, but the photo quality will be. Under photo quality we don't mean whether it's blurry or not or in color or not - this time we're talking content and whether it nailed it's idea or not. In other words, we will be VERY strict here.
- For written work: No Mary Sues. Please submit your work in English, and please try to have a concise storyline in it. Judging quality of a written work is hard, but as a rule of thumb, if we can read it and want more, it's good. If we're struggling through overly-complicated unneeded descriptions with no story and bad grammar, well it's bad.

SPECIAL RULES:

- Props for cosplay, masquerades and similar all go into the Misc folder. We don't care how well they're made, the Misc folder is for props. The ART folder is for Sculptures, Drawings, Digital Drawings and 3d Models only.
- Char sheets, resource material and similar should go either to Misc or to Written work. Yes, we accept such material.
- Chibis, Comics, Memes, Demotivationals etc, all fall into the "no crossovers" rule. While we do accept various styles, please, the work must be GRIM AND DARK in order to belong to the 40k world.
- Did we mention No Bronies?
- If there is something not covered by the rules, common sense will be applied. If anyone tries to purposefully dodge the rules instead of applying common sense, they will get banned, regardless of work quality.
- If we deny one of your work, it doesn't mean we'll deny all of your work. Don't be a primadonna about it and accept our ruling.
- And finally, we do not have to explain why we denied something. We sometimes do it, but that's out of the kindness of our heart, not because we have to.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
