it's so common sence i'm shocked. My Photography tutorial covered most of that way way ago when i made it. And even i like that they posted that, even i learned a few things :D

so have i. a lighting solution is on my to-do list as I currently only use indirect sunlight but it hadn't occurred to me to use my timer to eliminate my shaking hands from the equation.

TBH, finecaste isnt that bad anymore. The odd mold goes bad, but most are good.People seem to forget that metal was just as bad for this, and that should your kit be warped, ect, GW will replace it for free.
